„Dune” a fost marele câştigător în cadrul celei de-a 75-a ediţii a galei premiilor Academiei Britanice de Arte ale Filmului şi Televiziunii (BAFTA) cu cinci trofee câştigate iar producţia regizată de Jane Campion „The Power of the Dog” a fost recompensată la categoriile „cel mai bun film” şi „cel mai bun regizor”, scrie Variety.
Campion nu a putut fi prezentă la gală iar actorul Benedict Cumberbatch a primit premiul în numele ei. Un alt absent notabil a fost Will Smith, care a câştigat premiul la categoria „cel mai bun actor” pentru rolul din „King Richard”.
Ceremonia a avut loc la Royal Albert Hall din Londra, gazdă fiind actriţa Rebel Wilson. Glumele ei au vizat familia regală dar şi Downing Street 10. Războiul din Ucraina a fost de asemenea amintit în cel puţin trei ocazii în timpul galei. Wilson, în timp ce a prezentat melodia „Both Sides Now” cântată de Emilia Jones din coloana sonoră a filmului „CODA”, ea a spus că melodia este transpusă atât în limbajul ASL (American Sign Language), cât şi în cel BSL (British Sign Language) şi a adăugat un gest, degetul din mijloc arătat pentru preşedintele rus Vladimir Putin.
